Employee exhibits deal with position classification, comparative wage analysis, productivity, hours of work, paid holidays and work hazards. Carrier exhibits relate to pattern settlements of railway labor disputes, comparative wage and earning data, position descriptions, work measurement, hours of work, working conditions, crew consist, and the economic conditions of the railroad industry, among others.

The Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen was founded in 1883 in Oneonta, New York as a protective and insurance organization.
